On August 9th, I had the chance with the Trophy Hammock boys to kill my first alligator. We stalked within about nine feet of the gator on the left side of it and took 3 308 Hornady hollow point shots into the midsection near the front legs of the gator from my Ruger SFAR. Despite the three hollow points, this gator kept fighting. After those 3 shots, a 9mm and a few .22 subsonic rounds from my son, the gator finally passed. These things are tough, tough creatures.
I elected to get the head mount and sausage for donations. Hopefully should get those this month and will report back with how they look and taste!
