1. Reliable Rifle – we recommend a 300 blackout or heavier caliber rifle. I love the 308 SCAR heavy by FN for daytime hunting and the Ruger SFAR for night time hunting for optics reasons, which I explain elsewhere.

2. Perfect Ammo – I recommend either the Critical Defense line from Hornady which is featured in several reviews on the Possenti Enterprises blog. These rounds are devastating to hogs and everything else for that matter. I’ve heard it said that they will kill everything in North America.
3. Perfect Location – we cannot recommend the folks over at Trophy Hammock Outfitters enough if you are in the Central Florida area. Tell them the Tampa Hog Man sent you and they will take good care of you and charge you 10 percent more! If you are in the Ocala area, we just recently did a great night thermal hunt with Westshore Outfitters.
4. Blood Flashlight – I am sure purists are going to get mad about this, but I highly recommend having a solid, reliable blood flashlight. We are currently using the Primos Hunting Bloodhunter HD and highly recommend it.
5. The Perfect Florida Camo – I cannot say enough great things about FL Camo’s Palmetto pattern gear. First and foremost, it perfectly blends in across Central and South Florida’s Palmetto scrubs. It is also very comfortable and actually is a bit waterproof which is critical in our weather. I am a huge fan of it and cannot say enough good things about it.
6. Walker Muff Electronic 1-Mic 4 Ex Enhancement 22db – these headphones offer the absolute best hearing protection for Hog Hunting. The noise cancelling technology is absolutely the best too. It allows you to safely focus on the hunt, while also not causing permanent hearing loss, which is obviously equally important. We reviewed them on our Hog Vlog linked here.
